THE STELLAR ODYSSEY Zürich BOUTIQUE EXHIBITION
BOUTIQUE TRAVELLING COLLECTION
THE STELLAR ODYSSEY
Jaeger-LeCoultre has the pleasure to invite you to the Zürich Boutique, from October 27th to November 11th, to discover The Stellar Odyssey Travelling Collection celebrating the links between cosmic phenomena and the origins of timekeeping leading to horological innovation.
CHAPTER 1 | THE ORIGINS OF TIME
Very early, mankind observed natural phenomena at regular intervals. Over millennia, instruments reproduced celestial cycles, enhancing scientists' understanding of astronomy. As inventors, Jaeger-LeCoultre's watchmakers have mastered astronomical complications, translating these cosmic phenomena into wristwatch cases.
CHAPTER 2 | THE ANOMALIES OF TIME
The irregularities of the calendar, with leap years as well as months of differing lengths, represent a real challenge for watchmakers. Since the end of the 19th century, Jaeger-LeCoultre has mastered the intricacies of the perpetual calendar, also combining it with other complications to create Grande Complication movements.
CHAPTER 3 | THE UNIVERSAL TIME
The growth of travel in the 20th century created a demand for watches that show different time zones at a glance. Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed expertise in these complications, with exceptional innovations like the Calibre 383 allowing the simultaneous display of several time zones.
CHAPTER 4 | THE SKY AS A COMPASS
In 2021, Jaeger-LeCoultre united three different displays of lunar information in a single wristwatch: the Reverso Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185, allowing the determination of rare phenomena, such as super moons and potential eclipses.
