The Panel

ART DECO NOW

Thursday 15th December 2022

Jaeger-LeCoultre and i-D magazine bring together a range of voices from the world of design: Alex Trochut, lettering artist and Jenna Fletcher, archivist and founder of Oswalde to celebrate timeless design.

Joined by Osman Ahmed, Fashion Features Director at i-D, panellists will share perspectives inspired by their own practice and reflect on creativity and ingenuity within all areas of design. Alex Trochut will evoke the power of typography and the ideation of the 1931 alphabet, designed for the Maison.

The panel discussion will highlight an important period for Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Art Deco. In 1931, Jaeger-LeCoultre launched a timepiece that was destined to become a classic of 20th-century design: the Reverso. Art Deco lines and unique reversible case make it one of the most recognisable watches of all time. The panel will discuss how Reverso has been transformed into a unique work of art and how it continues to epitomise the spirit of modernity that inspired its creation.
